Have you ever wondered, "Why don't I know what's happening around here?" To stay in the loop, here are the six ways to stay informed that you should know. Give yourself a check mark for each method that you currently use - are YOU an "8-checkmark Resident"? :)
Did you know that a lot of information is provided to homeowners via key documents?
This 2023 in Review, created by our HOA Board President at the end of 2023, includes information on property condition, recent and future site activities, finances, and more. It's very readable, quite succinct, and a highly-recommended read!
The Reserve Study for 2024 was prepared for the HOA by a professional reserve study company. It has many details on how money from our monthly dues is set aside for future known expenses.
For other important documents, see the Doc page on this site.

A) "La Mesa Neighbors"
The LaMesaNeighbors Google email list and forum is a handy way to keep in touch with your neighbors and exchange information on a number of topics. Posts discuss items for sale or free, events happening in the community, missing packages, Comcast outages, what to do when your <fill in the blank> breaks, etc.
It is not an official way to report issues or ask questions, but it's a great way to stay informed from fellow neighbors like yourself.
Only members can post emails to the list. Request to be a member of the list - both owners and renters can join. When requesting to join, please be sure that you include information to identify yourself as legit, so the list manager knows you're a human who lives here, and not a robot trying to spam us.
Contact: LaMesaNeighbors+owner@googlegroups.com
B) "La Mesa Swimmers"
This Google email list and forum is a way for those who use the pool or spas to communicate, and keeps some of the email traffic off the main list. Request to be a member of the list.

From time-to-time, our management company (FSR) needs to notify us about important issues. They do this by sending an "email blast" to all email addresses they have on file for our community.
Even if you prefer to stay off most email lists so as to not get too many emails, the frequency of these blasts is low (about 1-6 times a month) and only when really important, so you will definitely want to receive these.
Blast emails are sent from Communications@mc.fsresidential.com. Be sure to "whitelist" the address so their emails are not sent to your spam folder, and note that address does not receive incoming mail.
Do you receive these important blasts?
To check, search your inbox for emails from Communications@mc.fsresidential.com
To start receiving email blasts:
Log on to the FSR portal and adjust settings there. Email Jesse from FSR. (If you receive more specific details, forward them to the webmaster to update this section.
Also note that this saves our entire association money, because the more people who go paperless, the less we must spend on printing and postage.

The Board and other neighborhood organizers sometimes print and post flyers on the sides of all our mailboxes, so as to reach as many people as possible - even those not signed up for other forms of communication. We recommend you get in the habit of checking the sides of your mail box for flyers when you pick up your mail.
On rare occasions where something extremely important comes up (like construction work, or spraying of chemicals for termites), people will post flyers on the front door or garage door of every single resident who is affected. Be sure to occasionally check your front door even if you don't typically use your front door, and be sure to read any flyers on or near your garage door.
Our "Gardens of Sunnyvale HOA" Calendar has all the board meetings for your convenience. Our plan is to also keep it updated with neighborhood events, and community events like the City of Sunnyvale's extra garbage dump days. Even if you don't use Google Calendar, you can view it.
Would you like to volunteer to keep this calendar up-to-date? We'd love your help! Please email the webmaster (see email in teh footer).
